Welcome to WovenAware

Awareness, experience, and reflection are woven together.

WovenAware is a Deaf-led reflective space exploring awareness through lived experience, systems, and storytelling.

It was created by Stephanie Todd, a Deaf creator sharing reflections on lived experience, systems, and personal awareness.

It explores how systems, communication, and everyday experiences shape identity, belonging, and access. Through lived experience, reflection, and education, WovenAware creates space for a deeper understanding of the world around us and of ourselves.

Awareness begins with noticing.

Understanding grows through experience.

Change becomes possible through reflection.

How Awareness Unfolds

Awareness unfolds in layers.

WovenAware explores awareness through understanding systems, centring lived experience, and creating space for reflection. These layers work together to support meaningful understanding and lasting change.

Why WovenAware Exists

Many barriers are not immediately visible.

They exist in systems, expectations, and everyday interactions.

WovenAware exists to make these realities visible – to encourage understanding, challenge assumptions, and support more inclusive ways of thinking and communicating.

The aim is not simply to share information, but to create space for awareness that informs, connects, and grows.

A Deaf-Led Perspective

WovenAware centres Deaf experience, identity, and culture.

It recognises that accessibility, communication, and belonging shape how people experience the world. By sharing lived realities and exploring structural barriers, WovenAware supports greater understanding across Deaf and hearing communities.

Accessibility, respect, and reflection guide everything shared here.
